The world saw the devastation the super typhoon Yolanda (Haiyan) left in its wake. Northern Cebu was one of the regions badly hit by the typhoon which left over 5,000 families' homes destroyed. Among the many relief aid initiatives for victims, Roof for Relief -as the name suggests, has a more targeted goal.
Roof for Relief is A Gawad Kalinga project to provide roofs for more than 5,000 families affected by Typhoon Haiyan (Yolanda).
Typhoon Yolanda's strong winds have practically ripped off the roofing of thousands, rendering structures and houses unlivable and unsafe. Roof for Relief aims to provide long-term solution to help those affected in Northern Cebu to rise up and rebuild their homes.
The program is targeting to rebuild 5,000 roofs for 5,000 families. With a donation of P,5000 you could be putting roof on someone's home. The P5,000 (approx. US$120.00) will be for the materials to make the roofs.
