But this time with fellow C.A.M. member and brother Jehiel Miranda. This will all go down at Club Ultima – Power Gym (15th Floor, Tower 2, Fuente Osmena Blvd.) Cebu City.

Class is open to everyone who’s interested to learn Hip Hop and Urban Style dances whether you're a beginner or advance dancers this is for you guys to share, explore, inspire and challenge yourself to help you better your craft. Class will also tackle some discussions about dance, dance classes, old school, middle school and urban choreography.

Courageous All Men (C.A.M.) Workshop

CEBU CITY - Another of  Cebu's prominent Hip Hop Dance Crews, Courageous All Men will be holding their own dance workshop, on May 20, 2013 at the Mango Square Dance Studio. 2 sessions for only P150.  Registration is at 12 noon on the day and classes will start 1pm until 4pm. 

Initially their was called THEMSENT, simply because it sounded odd for a dance group and wasn't taken seriously it was just a name that was good at that moment. This was around 1st quarter of 2012. There were 3 members originally, The Mendoza brothers Mike and Keloy and friend John Rey. The brothers grew up in Luzon, and have since moved to Cebu. Wanting to share the dance style they're accustomed to, and with John Rey aboard they got the inspiration to share, teach and practice again if only to continue pursuing their love for dance.

THEMSENT's debut in the Cebu dancing scene was in the regional qualifying dance contest, Dance Off. Despite having the least number of members, their dance style -which apparently was relatively new to the local dance scene have made them stand out and impressed the judges enough that they made it as one of the finalist to represent Cebu in the national qualifying leg in Manila. In July 2012, They joined GMA Channel 7 Cebu's local dance competition  DanceFest, garnering the 2nd Runner-up title. Their biggest achievement to date is claiming the Championship title in ABS-CBN Cebu's local variety show Kapamilya Mas Winner Ka, Winner Dance Showdown.

After that, opportunities came in waves. From guest performance in shows with ABS-CBN Cebu, invitation to perform during events, etc. Giving the group more recognition and exposure. The group, which has long since grown from just 3 members has been more focused on training and improving themselves than joining competitions. Now more bonded as brothers, they've decided to choose a name that all the members can agree on. Thus, Courageous All Men - a name that depicts them as a group who've gone through a lot as friends, comrades and brothers in life and dance, and that they have and will stand for what they believe in.

Zero Gravity Summer Dance Workshop 2

TACLOBAN CITY - With a plethora of achievements, including: being finalists in nationwide talent shows such as Showtime and Pilipinas Got Talent; Securing slots as finalists in nationwide qualifying dance competitions for Dance Off and World Supremacy Battlegrounds; Numerous wins in regional and local dance competitions, notably their winning streak and consequently making them the grand slam Champions of Dance Wars -an annual regional dance competition held  in Tacloban City, Zero Gravity  has indeed made a name for themselves and has cemented their being one of the best dance crews to come out of Tacloban City. 

And now they will be conducting their second summer workshop, Heat Up ! Hip Hop, to impart some of their knowledge to fellow dancers and dance enthusiasts alike.

For P1500, students get to learn some of the basics and foundation of Hip Hop styles, such as Popping, House, Krumping, Waacking & Vogue, Bboying and Break dance, and also new contemporary styles such as Urban, Flavor and L.A. GUDC Making Waves this Summertime

DAVAO CITY - Groove Unlimited Dance Community (GUDC) has kept busy since summer has officially started here in the Philippines. About 3 weeks ago, GUDC -spearheaded by Offlimitz has once again reached out to fellow dancers in nearby city, Kidapawan and held the successful dance workshop under the dance program The Bridge.

THE BRIDGE is a Kidapawan City grown dance program initiated by Offlimitz and Turning Pointe School dedicated to the hip-hop, urban and street dance enthusiasts in the area. Its goal is not only to bring in choreographers from different areas but as well as to slowly bring all the dancers together and contribute to the regular acquaintance and good will in the growing dance community in North Cotabato.  

Offlimitz, being one of the pioneers of GUDC, teamed up with some of the Davao choreographers to a hold an opening workshop to jump start the 2nd Season of the Program . - GUDC

Project Element Dance Showcase

Sometimes it's all about sharing the gift.

Not too long ago, on November 30 and December 1 of this year to be exact, the merger dance crew known as Project Element held their second dance workshop dubbed iPEed 2, here in Cebu. They had an impressive number of 200 attendees -50 students more than their debut workshop in August (iPEed 1).

If the overwhelming number of students isn't enough testament to the success of the workshop I don't know what is. In 2 days the choreography-based dance workshop gave students a variety of dance styles to learn and work on their moves. With about 6 choreography from the collaborative works of 11 teachers, one can say the students had more than enough of their money's worth to take home. Now all's left is an avenue to showcase these newly learned routines. As it were, most of the students' feedback (even from the first iPEed) was the expressed wish of being able to show off the skills they got to a wider audience.

Lucky enough for the crew, an opportunity presented itself. Last weekend, Elizabeth Mall (E-Mall) celebrated it's anniversary and had given the task of entertainment to Project Element. Given this break, there could not have been a better time to hold the dance showcase iPEed students were waiting for.

So on December 14, 2012 I had the chance to witness what was designated the "recital" or culminating activity for iPEed 2, the Project Element Dance Showcase -entertainment street-style. Literally street-style as the event was held at the heart of Cebu downtown, by the sidewalk just outside E-Mall's side entrance. One thing's for sure, they may have been amateurs but none could have made the event any bigger and louder than the students themselves along with their teachers. Entertaining friends, supporters and passer-by's alike with the same fervor as they danced their hearts out together like one big family -united by the same burning flame.

So what about iPEed 3? I hear they will be back for a 3rd wave. Keep it here.

Me and a bunch of good friends registered yesterday for the Hip Hop Mania workshop happening in Ayala's Active Zone on May 30 and 31. Apart from the workshop we will also challenge ourselves to the Hip Hop marathon which will happen afterwards. I miss dancing and this will be the perfect time to bond with my dancing buddies again. Time to stretch!!

Professional registration fee: PHP150.00
- Day 1 (May 30, 2010)
- 3-4:30pm

Students registration fee: PHP75.00
- Day 2 (May 31, 2010)
- 3-4:30pm

Marathon registration fee: PHP100.00 - There will be prizes for the grand winner and 1st runner-up of the marathon plus trophies and gift certificate.
- Day 1 & 2
- 5-7pm

There will also be Hip Hop Dance Competition on Day 2 (May 31, 2010) for dance crews out there with 6-8 Members. Registration fee is at PHP500.00 per group. Cash prize of PHP10,000 and a trophy is at stake!

Might be going to check out Cebu Cosplayer's Club's event tomorrow. I haven't been to one of their events before, but with the growing cosplay community here in Cebu might as well check it out and see people. I won't be cosplaying though as I didn't prepare anything (since I'm busy working on another project ^_~).
